Last days on the coast . . .

We spent 4 nights in Lopez Lake and then moved to Moro Bay.  The key feature is an ancient volcanic "plug" right at the beach.  The stone is particularly hard and was being actively quarried until 1933.  They removed over a million tons of rock and it is still pretty substantial.  Now it is a nature preserve for nesting Peregrines.

The water is still pretty cold so wet suits are used by the surfer crowd

A high point for these 2 nights was dinner with John and Nancy in their palace of a trailer -- definitely several steps up from the ALiner on the RVing food chain.  Dinner was fantastic as well!
