Fog and overcast on the coast -- time to head towards the desert. We drove to Bakersfield -- this is a surprisingly large city (220,000) and everyone seems to have an acre or more so the sprawl is amazing. Not much to recommend it for a stay in town so we bought some repair supplies (yes we are still dealing with this issue) at Camping World and headed to a highly recommended RV park 8 miles out of town called "Orange Grove RV" This one is worth noting for the record book. The best facilities we have seen at any park and as a plus they encourage everyone to pick a grocery bag full of navel oranges from the trees.
We stayed 2 days and are now OBLIGATED to eat at least 4 juicy fresh-from-the tree oranges everyday. Life is so tough in the fast lane.
